The aim of LEARNINGTEX is to develop a Work Based Learning course with a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) approach based on OER (Open Educational Resources) about advanced technologies for textile quality control, not only for textile-outdated employees but also for unexperienced workers who has just finished their studies.
The course will be oriented to textile employees and students interested in update their knowledge about woven fabrics, machinery and the application of new technologies to improve quality control processes and reduce costs.
The course will consist of two parts strongly oriented to the staff needs; both based on an innovative methodology developing OER shaped into a MOOC.
The first part will focus on woven fabrics’ OER structured into sections, lessons and tests to evaluate the learning process and the second will be OER about advanced processes of quality control and defect detection in woven fabrics.
At the end of the project, a pilot will be done in Portugal and Spain with visits to the facilities of the textile sector consortium partners (CITEVE, AITEX and UPV).
The project is structured in five different WP (Work Packages):
WP 1 – DESIGN OF WBL COURSE, STRUCTURE AND CONTENTS
This Work Package consists of the design of the MOOC, its duration and structure in order to make an appealing course for learners.
WP 2 – DEVELOPMENT OF OER AND INTEGRATION WITH MOOC LEARNING PLATFORM
This activity will aim to develop the learning resources for the course, which will be OERs (Open Educational Resources). These could have different formats: Videos, Screen-casts, Articles, Text, Tests/questionnaires.
WP 3 – USER’S LEARNING PROCESS VALIDATION AND LEARNINGTEX MOOC’S REENGINEERING
In this Work Package, the OERs and the MOOC will be testes. Not only the system created but also the learning process of the users. Two kinds of tests will be performed, functional tests to check if the system and the MOOC operates according to the technical specifications and a learning validation to check and evaluate the learning process of the users.
WP 4 – DISSEMINATION OF PROJECT RESULTS
Dissemination will be performed from the beginning of the project, in order to raise the awareness among potential users of at regional, national and European level, disseminate the project in educational systems and academic community to raise the awareness for new ways of learning and disseminate and exchange best practices on new learning approaches.
WP 5 – PROJECT CONTROL AND MONITORING
Management activities will guide partners during the reporting periods. An interim and a final report will be done with a full description of all technical work and all economic expenses incurred during the first 12 months and the whole project. Reports will be available in month 14th and 24th.
